Devastation from wind and surge,
Broken levees our land submerge.
Hardships, losses we can see,
Separated families there will be.
What could be saved, was placed in sacks,
And our clothes upon our backs.
Journeys taken across this land,
Seeking shelter where we can.
Support and comfort we would find,
From loving folks that were so kind..
From this world the love they give,
Gives us hope, new life we'll live.
